Agony Guy Agony Home What is a devotional or quiet time and how can I have one? Our quiet time is the space that we set aside each day to spend with the Lord. This usually includes a time of prayer and Bible reading. It is best to get into a routine, where you spend time with God at the same time each day. Every person has to decide when it is best for them to spend time with God; some find it easier in the morning, others later at night. Start by setting aside five minutes for prayer and five minutes for reading the Bible and decide what hour is the best for you. Set this date with God and keep it each day. As you get used to prayer and Bible reading, try spending a little longer each day, until you have some quality time in God’s presence. It may be hard at first, but as you have faith, whilst labouring in the word and prayer, God will meet with you! ‘And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.’ Hebrews 11:6.
