12. FEAR and WORRY

Question and answer: “Is there any point in worrying, or being fearful?”

You cannot solve any problems, or change anything, by worrying. It is a waste of time and energy! It only makes you feel stressed and puts extra pressure on your heart! Fear can be good or bad for you. Fearing to walk too close to the edge of a cliff is good. But, if you fear the future, that has a negative impact upon your life. God is in control of every situation; we should have faith in Him. Stop worrying and stop fearing. Romans 14:23.Matthew 6:25, 34 ‘Do not worry about your life…’ ‘Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it’s own things…’

Our heavenly Father takes good care of His obedient children. Give your fear and worry to God. Why not try to trust Him more, and worry less? ‘Cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you’ 1 Peter 5:7.

Wisdom: A problem not worth praying about is not worth worrying about. Tell God your feelings, express what is on your heart, and let him deal with the worries, fears and anxieties. Proverbs 12:25, Luke 1:37, 18:27.

Romans 8:15 ‘You did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship…’

‘Perfect love casts out all fear’ 1 John 4:18. We live in the perfect love of God, and He will help us in times of need. Put your faith in Him and rest in the safety of His love. Worry and fear is like a thief, it robs us of our joy and happiness. We must choose to cast all fear out of our mind and proclaim our faith in Christ.

Fact: Nothing is ever as bad as it first appears. God knows the future.

Have you ever laid on your bed and worried about an exam result or a job interview? If you do that again, you could get stressed or upset more, and you could even get sick, literally! Try to fix your mind on Jesus. Philippians 4:6,7.

Think: Am I a worrier or a fearful person? What will I do about it?
