18. Our POSITION in Christ JESUS
Question and answer: “How am I different in Christ?”
If you do not know who you are in Christ, you will not understand the power and authority given to you. The most important thing is that you are a child of God, and an heir of Christ, John 1:12. Galatians 4:7 ‘You are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then an heir of God through Christ’ Wisdom: To know that you are related to royalty gives you a status and a position including privileges and responsibilities. Jesus is the King of Kings, and we have been adopted into His family. We are a son and an heir to the promises of God. We are in authority because of Jesus. We are… Fact: If you are a nobody, then you have just become somebody, in Christ. Philippians 1:6 ‘Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…’ We must also live up to our royal position. Just because we are sanctified (made holy) by faith, it does not mean that we now can sin all the time. The proof that we are in Christ is that we are choosing to live up to our title of holy in Him. Holiness and good works are the evidence that our salvation is being worked out practically day-by-day. When we do make mistakes, confess our sin and move on into His forgiveness. Ephesians 2:10, Philippians 2:12, Titus 2:7, James 2:18 and Matthew 5:16. 1 Timothy 4:12. Think: Do I really know who I am in Christ Jesus?
