Presumptuous Service – My Plans or Yours?
(The Call of God, His Plan and His Timing!)
Related Scriptures: 1 Samuel 3:1, Amos 8:11, Jeremiah 42-43, Jeremiah 7:24, Jeremiah 17:5-10, Amos 3 and John 10.
This is what the Sovereign Lord says,
“It is written that when Samuel was a boy and ministered to the Lord under Eli, a Word from the Lord was rare. It is also written
that in the days of Amos the Sovereign Lord warned that there would be a famine of hearing the Words of the Lord. In the days of
Jeremiah, a remnant of the people of Judah, from the least to the greatest pleaded with him to pray on their behalf to discover the
Lord God’s plan for them, where they should go, and what they should do, promising to obey everything he told them. Ten days later,
having received the Word of the Lord, he shared it with the people and was told by the arrogant men that he was lying, and they
rejected the Word of the Lord. Like their forefathers, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts, hearts that
were deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Hearts that turned away from the Lord and trusted in self, and in the
confidence of their own human ability, forsaking the grace of God.
“Two can only walk together by agreement and the Sovereign Lord does nothing without first revealing His plan to His servants the
prophets. I warn you of the danger of the sin of presumption. You should not presume anything in relation to My plan. Many are the
plan’s of men’s hearts and most meet with failure for they do not pertain to My plan. On the canvas of Church history, many were
called, and then set out to paint a masterpiece without the Master! The studio of time is strewn with skeletons of disorder and
disappointment.
“In the last hours of the last days, the Holy Spirit has communicated with the Body of Christ in abundance but many I say, many,
are unwilling to stop and truly listen to Him. When I ask, ‘When will they realise the call is not a command to commence?’ When a
mother calls her child to run an errand she expects the child to stop what he or she is doing and give full attention to her
instructions. Soldiers stand to attention when they are addressed by their commanding officer and wait for his or her instructions.
“There are individuals and ministries floundering in a sea of confusion. Their rudder is broken and they have lost their compass.
Oh yes, says the Spirit of the Lord. The call came but before I could explain and share with them Our plan, the plan – God’s plan,
they had made their own calls and their own plans, and all the others they’d shared with added theirs as well! Before they knew it,
the Body had lost connection with its Head, Selah (think about it), a body without eyes, ears, mouth, nose and its brain. Is it
any wonder that for many, life has become an obstacle course?
“My sheep know Me, they know My voice, they listen to Me, they follow Me, they love Me and obey My commands, My teaching. Others
go astray, follow others or just wander off. The greater the call, the greater the fall, if you lose your Head! Many who heard
the call are so busy with others (that they called) and their plans, that they no longer hear Me calling. This is My plan, this is
the way, walk in it. If some of My sheep choose not to listen to My voice, then whose voice are they listening too? Those whom I
love I rebuke and discipline so be earnest and repent." (Revelation 3:19-20, Job 5:17, Proverbs 3:11-12 and Hebrews 12:4-11, NIV).
