Vegetables

1. Onions are a traditional remedy for coughs and colds and contain a natural anti-oxidant called quercetin.

2. Onions have long been regarded as good for medical purposes. There is now evidence that they may reduce cholesterol.

3. Unlike most vegetables, carrots are more nutritious cooked than raw. The vitamin A in the carrot led to the legend of consuming carrots to help you to see in the dark.

4. Red salad onions have a slightly hotter, more peppery taste than white ones, but are still sweet and mild.

5. Chillies may help clear blocked noses and banish colds. They’re good on sinuses as well and are rich in vitamin C.
