The Bible describes heaven as a timeless eternal realm, where there is no sickness, suffering or pain (Psalm 103:5, Isaiah 40:31). It is
the perfect realm of light and love. We will be transformed in heaven and wonderfully conformed to the image of Christ; we will never
want to sin again, nor can we sin. As the carnal nature will be removed from us, we shall only desire all that is good and
pleasing to God (John 3:5, James 2:26).
In heaven, there are jobs for us to do, but the curse of Adam has no power there, therefore all shall enjoy the calling that God has for them
(Genesis 3:16-19, 24). In the book of Hebrews we have a glimpse of heaven, and all who put their faith in Christ will be one of
the spirits of just men made perfect:
‘But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God…to the general assembly
and Church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect’ (Hebrews 12:23).
Though we live on earth, our real home is in heaven, and we are encouraged to dwell on the perfection of heaven. ‘If then you were raised
with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on
things on the earth’ (Colossians 3:1-2).
