The Human Heart
What does the Bible say about the heart?
The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).
We should be aware of setting up idols in our hearts (Ezekiel 14:1-6).
God’s heart can be crushed and grieved by our adulterous hearts, as we put other things before Him (Ezekiel 6:9).
Those with an evil heart of unbelief will depart from God (Hebrews 3:12), and people commit sin hoping in vain that the all seeing God cannot see (Ezekiel 8:7-12).
We should be aware of having a blasé attitude towards the Word of the Lord, idols and sin (Jeremiah 44:15-17). It is possible to draw near to God with our lips, yet our hearts can be far from Him (Psalm 81:15 and Isaiah 29:13).
God knows the secrets of the heart (Psalm 44:21).
We are told to give God our hearts (Proverbs 23:6), because he who trusts in his own heart is a fool (Proverbs 28:26a).
Let God have His way in your life, give Him your heart, and live for Jesus Christ.
