and Jesus called him "the fox," a truthful but derogatory remark.
The State can abuse its authority and can at times desire to extract unquestioning loyalty to it as it compromises God’s Word. Knowing this, Jesus warned his followers to expect persecution as they stood against evil.
'But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to the Sanhedrin, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. And you shall be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them and the nations.' Matthew 10:17-18.
